Base Oils
Olive Oil: Moisturizing, rich in natural antioxidants and vitamins.
Shea Butter: Softens, moisturizes, and protects the skin.
Palm Kernel Oil: Oil extracted from the nut or kernel of palms. Helps produce a firm, good lathering soap.
Cocoa Butter: Moisturizer, rich in antioxidants, may help improve skin elasticity.
Coconut Oil: Moisturizing, contains antioxidants, and helps produce a rich lather.
Additives
Hibiscus Flowers: When ground up add beautiful color, scent and texture to our soap. The ground pieces act as exfoliators. Hibiscus is also characterized as being an anti-inflammatory and a free radical scavenger.
Sodium Hydroxide: Saponifying agent* used in soap also know as lye (finished soap no longer contains sodium hydroxide).
*converts an oil or fat into soap
Essential Oils
Lavender Oil: Extremely versatile oil, know for its relaxing scent. Naturally an antiseptic, and antimicrobial. Also used as an insect repellant. Great for sensitive skins types.
Sweet Orange Oil: This oil’s scent is awakening, and is known for its anti inflammatory as well as antiseptic properties.
Cinnamon Leaf Oil: Warm inviting scent and is a natural antiseptic.
Rosemary Oil: Contains antioxidants, and is a natural insect repellent and antiseptic.
Juniper Berry Oil: Acts as a skin toner and is great for oily skin.
Litsea Cubeba Oil: Characterized by a calming lemony scent which acts a a natural deodorant. Natural antimicrobial and antiseptic.
Peppermint Oil: Characterized by a cooling sensation and scent. Natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.
